Company description: With over ten thousand paying subscribers, Aleph Beta is a growing non-profit media company producing high quality animated Torah videos and podcasts for teenagers and adults. Job Description: Aleph Beta is looking to make exciting investments in our product offering that have the potential to majorly impact the organization’s growth and the depth of engagement from users. From providing users with guided journeys through our content and personalized recommendations for what to watch next, to allowing users to learn together and track their progress toward Torah learning goals, we need an excellent UI/UX designer that can help turn these dreams into reality. 

The UI/UX Designer is responsible for being the custodian of the visual and features-related experience of the website and mobile app. The Designer must not only be reactive to design requests, but also be proactive in initiating projects for the continuous improvement of UI and UX across all platforms. To this end, the Designer will engage in customer research, research of best practices and industry trends, and partner with the Product Lead to support strategic goals. 

The UI/UX Designer will be responsible for impacting conversion rates and user engagement by building stunning UI and UX across web, mobile, and app. 

The role is a full time job that can be done from anywhere in the world. 


  • Partner with the Product Lead to bring product ideas to visual reality through brainstorming sessions, low fidelity wireframes, and high fidelity prototypes. 
  • Coordinate and balance the fundamental cares of stakeholders across the organization in product development, the goals of CRO, the various goals of the features, the mission and purpose of the organization in content, and the needs of the user in crafting beautiful customer experiences and interfaces. 
  • Conduct market research into design solutions that fit with the target goals. 
  • Engage in customer research to support UI/UX improvements. 
  • Be welcoming and responsive to feedback in getting to the most optimal designs. 
  • Design experiences for web, mobile web, and applications. 
  • Develop consistent style guidelines that represent the brand across all platforms. 
  • Proactively highlight opportunities for visual improvement in addition to reactively designing for planned projects. 
  • Collaborate with product lead to zoom out, focus, and prioritize - to declare when capacity has been reached, and to make smart decisions about what projects should stay and what should go guided by measurable results

  • A love of the user, and a commitment to protect their time, and ease their experience
  • High standards as it relates to the visual experience of Aleph Beta and a demand for others to take this element deeply seriously
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, the ability to proactively highlight edge cases that need to be handled and designed for
  • A commitment to efficiency and an ability to be scrappy in low fidelity, to make for quick iteration at the start of a project
  • Design that keeps in mind budget, and ROI. A sense of when to stop and when to raise your hand to ask for directions
  • Open minded and creative, can offer alternative solutions in response to development constraints
  • Staying current with top industry design, UI/UX trends
  • An outcome orientation - a motivation to see and measure results of UI/UX improvements 


  • 2+ years UI and UX experience for websites and mobile applications
  • Figma experience, preferred 
  • Ability to make visual changes in Javascript, a big plus
